With improved design ques to insure optimal wind management. Increased width and recurve design help to move the air around the passenger creating a clear view of the road, and improved comfortability. Selecting Height: Note: The height is measured from the top of the headlight cutout to the top edge of the screen (Stock screen height is 16″) Small- 18″ (1.5″ wider than stock) Medium- 19.5″ ( 1.5″ wider then stock) Large- 21″ (3″ wider then stock) Width: The new Clearview Shields R18 Classic windshield is wider than the stock screen to improve wind management. The BMW R18C 18″ and19.5″ screens are 1.5″ wider then the stock screen. The 21″ screen is 3″ wider than the stock BMW windshield to keep the taller screen proportionate. By increasing the width of the screen you in turn create a bigger pocket of air for the rider and passenger to ride comfortably in. Along with the increased width, the profile of the screen is shaped to help create a bigger pocket of air for the rider. The top portion of the screen maintains a wider profile with a flat top design. The new R18 Classic design will help reduce head buffeting at high speeds. Clearview Shields new BMW R18C is 1.5″-3″ wider then stock ( Stock screen is 20″ wide) Tint: Clearview Shields offers 3 available tint options for the new R18 Classic. There are a few ways Clearview Shields has achieved this improved design. Recurve: Our recurve option moves the air flow 1.5-2″ higher off the top edge. This allows the rider to have a Clearview of the road ahead while maintaining optimal wind coverage. This recurve design is distortion free and will increase the rigidity of the windshield. Width: With the increased width of our windshield, both the rider and passenger will have a bigger pocket of air to sit in. With this bigger pocket of air will come a quieter ride, allowing you to clearly hear what’s going on around you. Flattop: Along with the increased width maintained through the top portion of the screen is the flattop design. This design not only gives the R18C a classic look, but allows for a wider portion of the screen to use our enhanced recurve design. This enhanced design will give you additional lift across the flattop portion of the windshield. Increasing the performance of the screen without the need to increase the windshield height.
